Sandra Zarucchi – your massage therapist
About me
Qualified therapeutic masseuse registered with the Swiss Empirical Medicine Register (health insurer-recognised)
I have been providing various massage treatments to enhance the health and well being of clients at my Maloja practice since 2003.
Before becoming an independent practitioner, I studied at the Dickerhof professional massage school in Lugano from 1998 to 2000, where I successfully completed my training to become a qualified, Swiss Red Cross-certified therapeutic masseuse. The course covers basic training in therapeutic massage, the Vodder method of lymph drainage and reflexology.
I have continued my professional development by taking courses annually in myofascial release, the Dorn-Breuss method, etc. As a result, I am able to provide a personalised therapy suited to your individual needs.
I work exclusively with organic, high-quality and local products.

Therapeutic massage
You can opt for either a firm or a relaxing massage.
Therapeutic massage is about combining all techniques in order to achieve the best possible outcome. Depending on the method, massage can be soothing or stimulating; it can heighten physical awareness, support the body’s ability to heal itself, increase awareness of the body’s current condition – and thus help to recognise imbalances at an early stage.
Therapeutic massage has been found to alleviate the following conditions:
Energetic treatment (acupuncture massage, Radloff method)
Good for lower back pain, lumbago, sciatica, knee, hip and shoulder joint problems, lockjaw, torticollis and much more.
Acupuncture massage is a vigorous static treatment.
In Asian medicine, all physical and psychological problems can be traced back to an imbalance in the body’s supply of vital energy. This energy, which is known as ‘chi’ in Chinese, ‘ki’ in Japanese and ‘prana’ in Sanskrit, flows through an interconnected network of meridians. It supplies the human internal system and connects to the external system; i.e. the ‘world’. The working principle of acupuncture massage (APM) stems from the Chinese theory of energy, which is the basis for traditional acupuncture. This principle applies to the use of not only needles but any other form of mechanical stimulation. APM treatments work most effectively in the sports field.
APM combined with ear acupuncture works very well for depression, burn-out and as an addiction therapy (smoking cessation).
Reflexology is a holistic therapy, in which every organ in the body corresponds to a zone on the feet.
The entire human body is reflected in the form of reflex zones on the feet. Stimuli are transmitted to the relevant organ via the corresponding reflex zone on the feet in order to harmonise the organ and thus balance mind, body and soul. This massage stimulates the metabolism and influences the corresponding organ remotely.
Just like the dregs at the bottom of a glass, things can also accumulate in the feet. If they are moved, the body is able to process and eliminate them. Reflexology has many applications because people’s natural vitality can cope with the reflex.
It works well for: Digestive disorders, headaches, menstrual and hormonal problems, etc.
Manual lymph drainage (Vodder method)
Very gentle, soothing massage, unblocking effect
Our bodies are more than 60% fluid, which comes from the arteries, veins and the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system has three key functions:
